The Spunsulation Illumina Roofing Radiant Barrier is manufactured from white pigmented ultraviolet (UV) light resistant and non-toxic flame retarded non-woven spunbond polypropylene and aluminium foil laminated on one side with polyolefin laminating layer. The layers are laminated by means of a homogenous polyolefin based film web to the aluminium foil bottom layer. The membrane has a weight of 182 g/m2 with a thickness of between 0,46 mm to 0,50 mm. It is supplied in rolls of 30 m long and 750 mm or 1,5 m wide.
Spunsulation Illumina Roofing Radiant Barrier is suitable for installation in industrial buildings used in conjunction with timber or steel roof construction with concrete roof tiles or galvanised sheet steel cladding, provided that fire sprinkles are installed. It can be used in all regions of South Africa for all types of occupancy classification (SANS 10400: Table 1 of regulation A 20 (1)). When used as stated in this certificate it can:
- reduce air leakage.
- reduce ingress to the roof space of wind-driven rain and dust.
- reduce the chance of the tiles being blown off by the wind in case of the tile roof.
