DESCRIPTION:Agrément South Africa (ASA) is an entity of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure\n(DPWI)\, established under the ASA Act 11 of 2015. Its mandate is to assess and certify the\nsuitability of construction-related products or systems for use in the South African construction\nindustry\, specifically when no national standard exists. \nIn implementing the Act\, the ASA has identified gaps in the legislation and is currently reviewing\nthe ASA Act 11 of 2015. As part of this review process\, consultative workshops with stakeholders\nwill be conducted. Key role players affected by the ASA Act have been identified and include the\nfollowing main stakeholder groups: academia; professional registration councils and institutes;\npolicymakers; regulators; technical institutions; and implementers\, certifiers\, and certificate\nholders in the built environment. Specifically\, each relevant department will be represented by\ntwo participants in the workshops. \nASA invites key participants to join the upcoming stakeholder consultation workshop. An\nin-person workshop is scheduled for 29 May 2026 in the Free State. DESCRIPTION:Agrément South Africa is pleased to announce that the World Federation of Technical Assessment Organisations (WFTAO) Annual General Meeting will be held in Gauteng\, South Africa\, from 29 September 2026 to 1 October 2026. \nThis year’s AGM holds special significance as members will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the first WFTAO meeting hosted in South Africa in 1996. The gathering will celebrate three decades of international collaboration in technical assessment and innovation in the built environment. \nAll WFTAO members are cordially invited to attend this milestone event in South Africa. \nWe look forward to welcoming members back to the country that hosted the inaugural WFTAO meeting 30 years ago.
