The Eapro A Building Method is built in accordance with Easec (Pty) Ltd`s design manual and consists of:
precast and reinforced or prestressed concrete panels, bolted together to form walls. The rebated faces are lined with gypsum plasterboard;
- cast in situ concrete strip footings which may include wall panel anchor rods;
- conventional surface beds and floor screeds;
- conventional roof trusses, roof coverings, ceilings and gable triangles clad with fibre-cement sheeting or shiplap board;
- steel chanels bolted to the tops of eaves and gable walls; trusses fixed to eaves wall channels with brackets or cleats.
The certificate covers the use of the building system in all areas of Southern Africa for the erection of single storey buildings of the following types:
- A3 & A4 – places of worship and instruction
- B2 & B3 – moderate and low risk commercial service
- D2 & D3 – moderate and low risk industrial
- F2 – small shops
- G1 – offices
- H2, H3 & H4 – dormitory, domestic residences and dwelling houses
- J2 & J3 – moderate and low risk storage
Note: The occupancy classes given in Table 1 of Regulation A20(1) of SABS 0400:1990 have been attributed by Agrément South Africa to the types of buildings covered by the certificate and are shown in brackets above.
