Agrément South Africa (ASA) is an entity of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI), established under the ASA Act No 11 of 2015. Its mandate is to assess and certify the suitability of construction-related products or systems for use in the South African construction industry, specifically when no national standard exists.

In implementing the Act, the ASA has identified gaps in the legislation and is currently reviewing the ASA Act No 11 of 2015. As part of this review process, consultative workshops with stakeholders will be conducted. Key role players affected by the ASA Act have been identified, including the following main stakeholder groups: academia; professional registration councils and institutes; policymakers; regulators; technical institutions; and implementers, certifiers, and certificate holders in the built environment. Specifically, each relevant department will be represented by two participants in the workshops.

ASA invites key participants to join the upcoming stakeholder consultation workshop. An in-person workshop is scheduled for 03 July 2026 in Gauteng. The venue will be in Johannesburg, and the exact address is still to be confirmed.
